Patricia Mangan studied at the School of Architecture , DIT, Dublin from 1983 - 1989. On graduating she worked in London for Max Hutchinson and Partners.

In 1991 Patricia joined Jean Nouvel et Ass., Paris where she worked on a number of prestigious projects such as the Tour San Fins, Paris and Galleries Lafayette, Berlin.

In 1994, on returning to Dublin, Patricia joined Murray O'Laoire Architects, working on projects in Dublin and Moscow . From 1995 to 1996 Patricia was a lecturer in Interior Design at DIT, Dublin. In 1997 Patricia went into private practice and in 1999 established studio m architects with Rory Murphy.
